In fact, Joe, it's a very good thing there's some left in the GOP who would take a principled stand against you and your newly-crazy Party. Because if we didn't, we would not be Americans except in name; we'd be so far-Left as to be indistinguishable from Communists.

Which is exactly where the Democrats are headed if they keep their current vector.

I know; I was once a Blue Dog Democrat who voted for Jimmy Carter in 1976, and for Al Gore, twice, as US Senator from Tennessee.

All that before the Democrats began their CHANGE and started running far-Left.

We Conservatives act as an anchor, to try to keep this Republic together. You, Joe Biden, your Master Barack Obama, and his masters (out of sight but still pulling his strings) are too damned far-Left. And you have the nerve to say it's Conservative GOPers who've created this 'chasm'?

ObamaCare: Supreme Challenge to Our Freedoms

It's amazing what Left Liberal Progressives are willing to give up in order to be coddled from cradle to grave by a massive, hulking government. In this case, they are willing to give up the very core principles that this Republic was founded on: the idea that we, citizens, are independent thinkers and have the rights to reason individually whether or not we choose to purchase a thing.

If ObamaCare stands, the necessary checks on our government’s power all but vanish, as the Commerce Clause will become the grand hammer the Left desires. Government will have almost unlimited power to tell every citizen, and every group of citizens that make up our families, churches and corporations, exactly how they must behave and what they must purchase, under penalty of law. So much for the notion that Americans are still independent thinkers, and that Government should operate under strict Constitutional guidelines, and exist mostly in the background.

Obama releases a terrorist rather than send him to Gitmo.

One of the most widely photographed acts of President Obama's first year in office was his symbolic pre-dawn salute to the caskets of U.S. soldiers returning to Dover Air Force Base. In the case of a terrorist named Ali Musa Daqduq, who was released yesterday from U.S. custody in Iraq, the President is letting down those fallen soldiers and their families.

Daqduq is a Lebanese national and top Hezbollah operative who in January 2007 masterminded the ambush, kidnapping and murder of five American soldiers in the Iraqi city of Karbala. Arrested by U.S. forces in Basra two months later, Daqduq is said to have initially pretended to be deaf and mute. But he eventually talked, giving U.S. interrogators an extensive picture of the ways in which Iran was arming and training Iraq's insurgents.

Now Daqduq is in Iraqi custody—released, according to the Administration, because it could not lawfully do otherwise. "We have sought and received assurances [from the Iraqi government] that he will be tried for his crimes," said Tommy Vietor, a spokesman for the National Security Council.

Mr. Vietor surely knows the likelier outcome is that Daqduq will be released or acquitted so that he can rejoin his comrades in Beirut or Tehran. The Iraqi government has already released some 50 other prisoners responsible for attacks on U.S. forces.

The Administration contends that its hands were tied by the U.S.-Iraq status-of-forces agreement negotiated by the Bush Administration, which required Iraq's consent—not forthcoming—to remove any prisoners from the country. But it's hard to see why that stipulation would apply to Daqduq, who is not an Iraqi citizen.

It's almost 2012, thankfully.

And: "Their philosophy is simple. We are better off when everybody is left to fend for themselves and play by their own rules."

We have in a president's place a figurehead, not a leader. He actually believes he's single-handedly running this nation.

The problem with your stance, Mr. Egan, is reflected in the very title of your article; your use of your far-Left qualifier 'Gun Nuts'. You hate us.

Reading your piece carefully, it seems to me to drip with barely concealed hostility to the notion of gun ownership. We of the NRA know that the Democratic Party is hostile to the public ownership of firearms. Gun Control is as fundamental a Democratic Party Plank as Abortion and Atheism. Democrats are fundamentally enemies of the 2nd Amendment. Look to where they've long-term roots, in overpopulated cities and states: NYC, Chicago, LA, Washington DC; all of these places are hostile to our rights to gun ownership. It's a well-known Democratic (and United Nations) political plank.

Mr. Obama's potential to damage the 2nd Amendment is as vast as any far-Left Democrat's; and recall his promise to 'fundamentally CHANGE this country'. We simply cannot afford him any trust.

As a member of the Left wing, you can point to many issues that you wish Mr. Obama had pushed farther Left; gun control being one of them. If we see Mr. Obama re-elected in 2012, unfettered with worries of re-election, then we will definitely see his far-Left anti-gun (and other far-Left) agendas in full bloom. We, the defenders of things Constitutional, cannot but continue to challenge him and other far-Left Democrats.

Oh, and please, never mention 'hunting' in the same article as 'gun rights'. The 2nd Amendment has absolutely *nothing* to do with hunting.

Belated Thanksgiving Post

Dan Collins has this little illustration posted today, as part of his 'Dan's tips for a Memorable Thanksgiving' post; an old 'pillory' scene from Life Magazine (?). The Pilgrims, and other early American societies, used the public pillory for modifying wrongful behaviors, as needed. The original pic was titled 'Ye Glutton', which didn't much work for me, because ye dude pilloried was teh skin and bones.

So, 'Ye SCOAMF'. Because this fellow forgot to mention God in his Thanksgiving speech. It's clear that the 'new' far-Democrats are the Party of Atheism.

And, more importantly, Moore and Olbermann realize that Obama isn't helping them reach 'their' version of Lefty Nirvana fast enough, and now believe that Barack Hussein Obama should probably be replaced with a 'real' Progressive.

Ha! Even these two miserable far-Leftists fail to realize that Barack Obama isn't in this for their simple-minded vision of far-Left dominance; his ideals have always been much farther left; they are disguised, they are far more radical, and Obama is desirous of such CHANGE that even these two laughing hyenas would shirk.

But, in the short-term scheme of things, we needs encourage Moore's and Olbermann's simple-minded anti-Obama rhetoric. Because the more they look to and support a third-party Ralphie Nader to run, the better off we sensible TEA Party sorts will be.

But, I'll bet the occupant of the White House and the "Professional Left" (but I repeat myself) are not as amused this time around. Look for Barack Obama to give the go-ahead to Mayor Bloomberg to finally clean up Zuccotti Park, because it's becoming well-known as one of the worst crime zones in New York City...

The Zuccotti “cops” had just spent an hour and a half tracking Bezabeh through goat paths in the park armed with a description from the manager.

“We cannot take him in by ourselves, the cops have to come!” reiterates the OWS security force member.

They call the NYPD -- and it becomes abundantly clear that the cops down there are sick of the antics.

“Every single night it’s the same thing. I mean, some guy was a victim of rape!” an officer snarls. “There comes a time when it’s over. This is a disaster. It’s all we’re doing, every two seconds, is locking somebody up every time. It’s done.

“It’s done,” he repeats. “Occupy Wall Street is no longer a protest.”

Scenes like this -- and far worse -- have been playing out since the Zuccotti Park “occupation” began on Sept. 17.

The parcel is now a sliver of madness, rife with sex attacks, robberies and vigilante justice.

It’s a leaderless bazaar that’s been divided into state-like camps -- with tents packed together so densely that the only way to add more would be to stack them.

And despite an NYPD watchtower overhead and the entire north side of Zuccotti lined with police vehicles, it is quickly becoming one of the most dangerous places in New York City.

The Zuccotti Park Protest Deathwatch has officially begun. The bulldozers can't be long off now.

EXCLUSIVE: ACORN Playing Behind Scenes Role in 'Occupy' Movement

The former New York office for ACORN, the disbanded community activist group, is playing a key role in the self-proclaimed “leaderless” Occupy Wall Street movement, organizing “guerrilla” protest events and hiring door-to-door canvassers to collect money under the banner of various causes while spending it on protest-related activities, sources tell FoxNews.com.

The former director of New York ACORN, Jon Kest, and his top aides are now busy working at protest events for New York Communities for Change (NYCC). That organization was created in late 2009 when some ACORN offices disbanded and reorganized under new names after undercover video exposes prompted Congress to cut off federal funds.

NYCC’s connection to ACORN isn’t a tenuous one: It works from the former ACORN offices in Brooklyn, uses old ACORN office stationery, employs much of the old ACORN staff and, according to several sources, engages in some of the old organization’s controversial techniques to raise money, interest and awareness for the protests.

Sources said NYCC has hired about 100 former ACORN-affiliated staff members from other cities – paying some of them $100 a day - to attend and support Occupy Wall Street. Dozens of New York homeless people recruited from shelters are also being paid to support the protests, at the rate of $10 an hour, the sources said.

At least some of those hired are being used as door-to-door canvassers to collect money that’s used to support the protests.

Sources said cash donations collected by NYCC on behalf of some unions and various causes are being pooled and spent on Occupy Wall Street. The money is used to buy supplies, pay staff and cover travel expenses for the ex-ACORN members brought to New York for the protests.

In one such case, sources said, NYCC staff members collected cash donations for what they were told was a United Federation of Teachers fundraising drive, but the money was diverted to the protests.

Sources who participated in the teachers union campaign said NYCC supervisors gave them the addresses of union members and told them to go knock on their doors and ask for contributions—and did not mention that the money would go toward Occupy Wall Street expenses. One source said the campaign raked in about $5,000.

And we thought that bunch of dirty socialists was 'disbanded'. Not so. Didn't stake 'em through the heart.

But finding the taint of ACORN definitely show Obama's hand right on the control levers of "Occupy Wall Street", doesn't it?

Occupy Oakland: Tear Gassed, Bean Bagged, Wooden Dowelled, Arrested: UP TWINKLES~!

Seems the gloves are off in Oakland, where dirty 'Occupy Wall Street' socialists were evicted from their squalid encampment in Frank Ogawa Plaza. After, they decided to 'down twinkles' the police; who responded with tear gas, rubber bullets, wooden dowels and bean bags.

Most of the losers went home, to clean(er) beds in mom's basements. Some die-hards are still wandering the streets (the plaza is closed for cleaning of 'debris and defecate').

The rolling protest came about 12 hours after hundreds of police from across the Bay Area rousted about 300 people from the two-week old camp at Frank H. Ogawa Plaza. Tensions escalated after protesters vowed to return to the plaza, which was left with tents overturned and food, carpet, personal belongings and mounds of trash strewn on the lawn.

"We had to deploy gas to stop people from throwing rocks and bottles at police," said Interim Police Chief Howard Jordan, adding that he was unsure about what other crowd control methods were used by outside police agencies. There were unconfirmed reports that flash-bang grenades and wood dowels were launched at protesters.

Following the pre-dawn raid, about 500 protesters initially met at the main branch of the Oakland library at 4 p.m., chanting that they would "reclaim" what they now call Oscar Grant Plaza named for the unarmed man who was killed in 2009 by a BART police officer.

The demonstrators sparred with hundreds of police for more than six hours forcing police to close streets, reroute traffic and launch four rounds of bean bags into the crowd of protesters.

One officer said that during the camp shutdown, protesters threw bottles, skillets, other kitchen utensils and rocks at police. They also "threw plates at us like Frisbees," the officer said. Police confirmed that protesters had set off a fire extinguisher and several low-level explosives to try to deter oncoming police.

Frank H. Ogawa Plaza will remain closed until public health and safety conditions can be improved; this includes debris, human waste and hazardous materials removal.
