"Viva Mexico!", my ass. "Texas executes Mexican after court stay rejected"

HUNTSVILLE, Texas (AP) -- The Mexican National who was convicted of the brutal rape and killing of a teenage girl in 1995 died Thursday evening by lethal injection at a Texas prison.

Efforts by Humberto Leal's attorneys to halt the execution fell short, with the U.S. Supreme Court turning back a stay request and Texas Gov. Rick Perry refusing to grant a pardon. He was pronounced dead at 6:21 p.m. local time.

In his last minutes, Humberto Leal repeatedly said he was sorry and accepted responsibility.

"I have hurt a lot of people. ... I take full blame for everything. I am sorry for what I did," he said in the death chamber.

"One more thing," he said as the drugs began taking effect. Then he shouted twice, "Viva Mexico!"

...

Leal was sentenced to death for the 1994 murder of 16-year-old Adria Sauceda, whose brutalized nude body was found hours after he left a San Antonio street party with her. She was bludgeoned with a piece of 30- to 40-pound chunk of asphalt.

The guy came to America as a toddler. Doesn't matter he was born in 'Mexico'. He was a defacto 'American'; he came to America, he killed in America, he died in America. As it should be.

What he didn't do was, like many of his (legal and illegal) countrymen and women, was assimilate to American culture. He never became an "American" by desire, and in the end, he tried to embrace his 'other', but seems that came a bit late to save his worthless skin.

Aliens (legal and otherwise) who lack the desire to assimilate to American culture should not be here. If Humberto Leal was a Mexican citizen, why did he even stay in the U.S.A. long enough to kill a young woman in 1995?

Hmmmph. Good riddance.

Oh, and...

Texas Governor Rick Perry is my newest hero. He stands up to the worthless Mexican government; to the dirty-world socialists in the United Nations; to Barack Hussein Obama (who hates to lose any more votes); to various levels of Federal judges; even to ex-President George W. Bush, and to all the asshat LeftLibProggs everywhere who are against the death penalty.

Rick Perry for President, please.
