The problem with that reasoning, Stephen, is that the far-Left - Liberal - Progressive wing has taken over the once-proud Democratic party, and over time they've dragged this Republic farther and farther Left, with the 'blessings' and support of 'pragmatic' Republicans who've displayed no spine when it comes down to opposing the Left's radicalism (and, yes, it's radicalism now). Turns out that to support any of the Left's CHANGE is to 'lose more slowly', and to disagree with a Democrat is, to borrow your phrase, insane. Or RAAAAACIST!, another of your favorite monikers.We'll see if it gets approved, as was yesterday's.
There are lines that must be drawn. This Republic is not going to last much longer if we continue to drift Left. No nation can. So, we must discard our 'pragmatics', the Bob Dole - John McCain and the Fletcher - Romney sorts (and the Frum - Brooks 'moderates') - and try to finally counter what's dragging this Republic down. Just as you of the far-Left did with Joe Lieberman.
Oh, and there are no sane Democrats left in this Republic.
Your last sentence, Ms. Collins, should equally apply to you, and yours; those of the Left Liberal Progressive persuasion. But, NO! You insist, from your lofty perches as seemingly the haughty elitist cadres of supra-intelligent beings (who, since you've turned your backs on any mere 'God', and ignore your own innate God-given souls, can safely install your own Godhead in place) that you can dictate to the unwashed masses of citizens in all States your plans for our lives; controlled and checked down to the very basic everyday functions of eating the right foodstuffs, speaking the right words in the correct sequences, participating in your orchestrated 'two-minute hates' (see: Trayvon, Limbaugh) in order to force everyone to become like you.I've nice guns, and a very nice hoodie as well...
Unfortunately, there's the U.S. Constitution, that hoary old document that even Mr. Obama must abide by (given that he's taken an oath to do so). In that document, it seems Left Liberal Progressives have found stone walls that aren't as easily permeated as they might like (isn't it nice to see the Supreme Court conducting a remedial course in Constitutional Law, in regards ObamaCare?).
So, State's Rights. If you want to keep New York (actually just the City, since there are good, solid, Red citizens living in the hinterlands of New York who do not agree with bright Blue City politics) then shutter yourself away. Oh, and people who don't agree with your politics or anti-Constitutional views can move somewhere else...as is happening.

Wait! I thought for sure that Trayvon was forever 12 years old, a perfect saint who is now a martyr; a kid who was gonna be the next Martin Luther King Jr. if that EEEVIL!
